A sermon written  by John Wesley for those with convicting grace

What does Convicting Grace Feel Like?

Have you ever pulled out into traffic and did not look carefully and then hear someone  blow their horn at you and you realized you did not look too carefully because you were in a rush?  Below is a video that may help understand Convicting Grace.

It is very likely that some things  in your life have been holding you back spiritually.  Do you know what is the main thing is that drags you down spiritually ?  The video "what gorilla", see below  may or may not help you see what is holding you back.   If it doesn't help forget it and go to the spiritual disciplines.

JOHN WESLEY PROVIDED THE METHODIST CLASS MEETING FOR THOSE WITH CONVICTING GRACE.

TODAY :   A great small group for assisting the convicting grace you have received is the Celebrate Recovery "Open Share" group.  This is because it is an issue specific group and everybody in the group will be working on the same conviction you are having.  Celebrate Recovery offers about 20 different issues to reflect upon.

Another option is to go to a Christian Counselor and start the repentance process.

Convicting Grace  helps a person understand that repentance and humility  are parts of entering into God's family.

Convicting Grace Mini Sermon:

Convicting Grace Prayer

The 1989 UMC hymnal section with Prevenient Grace hymns includes #338;

“Where He Leads Me” words by E.W. Blandly written in 1890 reference

“I can hear my savior calling, I can hear my savior calling, I can hear my savior calling.

Take thy cross and follow, follow me.”

 Another hymn #351 “Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior” words by Fannie J Crosby 1868

“Pass me not o gentle savior, hear my humble cry;

While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by.

Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;

While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by,

Let me at thy throne of mercy find a sweet relief,

Kneeling there in deep contrition, help my unbelief.

Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;

While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by,

Trusting only in thy merit, would I seek thy face,

Heal my wounded, broken spirit, save me by thy grace.

Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;

While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by,

Thou the spring of all my comfort, more than life to me,

Whom have I on earth beside thee? Whom in heaven but thee?

Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;

While on others thou art calling, do not pass me by.

       Along with hymns that can be sung in the first person there are psalms that can be prayed in the first person.  The Psalms were written so you can identify with the psalmist in the prayer, and God attaches to the psalm what you are feeling,  and enhances  your experience.  The hymns and Psalms direct you.

 Convicting Grace Prayer Session 4

        Review your life for times God may have helped you out, or ask Your Savior now to not pass you by, because it is important to be humble now, and in the future when we pray.
