Praying with Justifying grace

Pray a prayer of thanksgiving for your Justifying grace, giving thanks for your adoption into your new spiritual family.   Tip: Look at who are the new people in your new spiritual family!

Also, you are part of the spiritual lineage outlined through the years in the Bible. Your story is part of God’s story.

Another Justifying Grace prayer Hymn is , “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us”,  words by Dorothy Thrupp 1836

“Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need thy tender care, in thy pleasant pastures feed us,  For our use thy folds prepare.  Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, thine we are.  Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, thine we are.”

Justifying Grace Prayer

Review the Spiritual Elements handout for the School of Prayer and pray for all 9 of the fruit of the Spirit listed.  Spend time in self examination and pray for God to reveal any of the fruits of the soul, or if you are living in some aspect with no fruit.

Justifying Grace Prayer

Review the Way to Approach God handouts. The Tabernacle handout shows the way to approach God taught in the Old Testament.  The,  “Jesus the Spiritual Approach to God” handout  shows how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament prophesies at each point so we pray for our relationship with him as Savior at each point.

What Does Justifying Grace Feel Like ?

Justifying grace comes by faith not feeling.  When you have faith some people might say one example would be that the grace experience is like the feeling of coming home and /or being with a loving family.  However you may not feel anything, the faith in Jesus Christ is the evidence.

Food for Thought-

Justifying Grace

comes from Jesus Christ and makes you part of God's family.  Being part of God's family in Methodism means you have a real spiritual connection to God through faith in Christ.  Why faith ?  Because all relationships involve faith and trust.

For example: If you make plans for something as simple as  meeting someone for lunch you have to trust that your friend will meet you there. If you don't have faith and trust in the other person it is not a good relationship. When you receive justifying grace you are also sealed with the Holy Spirit.

Here is a scripture verse that illustrates Justifying Grace:

Ephesians 1:13-14

KJV

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory..

Some people have a justifying grace experience in a moment others gradually come to justifying grace.

For Example: it is like the sunrise when asked when exactly did it happen, one might say, "A while there it was dim and hazy, but now it is light, and I remember earlier it was totally dark".

"I just don't know the exact time sunrise occurred. But now I know I am in the light!"
